Social Marketing - Use it to Generate Leads for your MLM Business

Social Marketing has opened doors for many Network Marketers like never before. Sites such as Facebook Twitter MySpace You Tube are allowing people to connect with each other and generate leads for their Network Marketing Business.

When I first began my MLM Journey, I was strictly taught the belly to belly, face to face approach and wasn’t sure anything else would work. Well, I’m here to tell you it can and it does. You can build relationships and partnership online through Social Marketing.

As you begin putting yourself out there socially, there are a few tips you will want to remember.

Honestly, meeting people online is similar to meeting people offline. It’s about building relationships, creating value, and connecting with others who share similar interests.

Think about it, when you meet someone offline, you ask questions, find out more about them. You want to know their interests, their hobbies, their goals, their dreams, etc. It’s the same when you are meeting people through social marketing.

When you enter a Social Networking site you don’t just starting blasting everyone about your business, do you? Of course not. You do not do that when you’re face to face with someone either. Instead, you want to create value, position yourself as an expert and network with others. You want to get to know people and start connecting with them.

One key element to all Social Networking Sites is your profile page. What are your interests? What do you enjoy? Do you like to cook? Do you enjoy working out? Do you enjoy sports? Maybe you enjoy gardening? You can post your interests, hobbies and all kinds of different information about you on your profile page. This allows your readers to get to know you. So, fill it out completely so your readers can get a sense of who you are. This begins the relationship process and helps develop trust with your readers.

Most Social Sites also have the “friend” and “groups/network” feature. This allows you to also connect with your contacts’ database. It’s very similar to the “who do you know” situation in the offline world.

Once again, everything you do offline, can certainly be taken online. And remember, once you put a piece of information online, it’s there forever.

Here are a few quick guidelines to follow.

Always publish a picture of yourself.
Use your name, your real name.
Don’t be negative, always remain positive.
Offer value.
Never bash another company.
Be consistent.
Define your target market.

Remember, the Internet is a big place. And you do not have to reach everyone. So, you will want to define your target market. Maybe it’s Corporate America Employee’s or maybe it’s stay at home moms or maybe it’s other Network Marketers. Whoever it is, define it and market to those.

Being Consistent is so important. If you want to play, you have to show up. So remain consistent in your activities and keep your name and your face out there. People will begin to know you, trust you and come to you.

Social Marketing isn’t going anywhere. So, get involved and watch your business grow as you build your online presence.
